Welcome to South Florida Nephrology Group, Research Department

Patient information:

South Florida Nephrology Group completely support the research and development of existing and new drugs through the participation in clinical trials. A clinical trial is the scientific process that determines the safety and effectiveness of a new treatment and discovers any side effects. Clinical trial volunteers like you help researchers to gather evidence that shows if a compound is ready for drug approval. The medicine being tested may be completely new or an existing drug being used in a new way. If you want to be a part of finding new solutions to health problems, joining a clinical trial is one of the best ways you can help. If you’re a patient with a health condition, you could potentially receive new treatments before they become widely available. New drug testing can provide an opportunity that patients may not realize. You may or may not be able to receive a new therapy that will help your condition. But there are other incentives to motivate you to take part in clinical trial studies such as compensation for your time and travel. Each clinical study has guidelines for patients based on specific factors, such as age, type of disease, medical history and current health. If you are interested in finding out more information or to find out if you can participate in one of our clinical trials please speak with you physician or email us.
